Crime Patrol -Wagah Border Special !
This week Crime Patrol brings to you a heart wrenching story of a missing man; his journey back home and his family’s struggle to find him back. The episode recreates the story of Tukaram Karpe (name changed), 58 year old mentally unstable man, who went missing from a hospital in Pune. After one and a half year he was found in Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore. Crime Patrol team which travels to the lengths and breadths of the country to shoot or the episodes, reached all the way to Wagah Border to shoot the anchor links for this unique case which had been in news some days ago. Incidentally, Tukaram was released from Lahore Jail on the same day when Crime Patrol team was shooting and was brought to India through Wagah Border only. Anoop Soni, host of Crime Patrol says, “I’m so delighted that Tukaram (name changed) got released from Lahore Jail. It was altogether a different experience shooting at Wagah Border. We tried to bring alive the heart rending story of a mentally challenged person who mysteriously lands himself in Pakistan & gets arrested there. We will try to bring out such cases time and again as there are many innocent people like Tukaram who are not spies but have been victims of mistaken identities. I wish from the core of my heart that all these people are united with their families.” Tukaram, 58, the mentally unstable man, after spending about two years there, was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail last week with five other Indian prisoners. Unfortunately the mystery of his journey from Pune to Pakistan remains unsolved even after his return.
