Show Concept

Crime Patrol - Dastak is a reality documentary aimed at crime prevention by recreating a dramatized version of real life cases. The basic idea behind the show is to make viewers alert and aware of possible danger and criminal activities prevailing in their neighborhood. The series, which was first aired in May 2003, shows the real picture of civilians and the alert Indian police which is unfortunately often misinterpreted. The show is hosted by noted TV actor Anoop Soni.

He lands in Mumbai by chance while he was trying to reach back home and a local family helps him survive. He meets a small accident, after which the hospital staff moves him to a child care home. A 30-year-old woman Rohini and her 5-year-old daughter Chanda are found dead in their house in a village near Pune. Rohini’s father reveals that their daughter was married to a local saint named Guru Jaidev and was living with him. Everyone in the village sings his praise and refuse to believe that he is a fraud. But when Police reaches the crime scene the saint is untraceable. Police tries calling him on all the numbers that are given by Rohini’s father but they are switched off. Jaidev moves from one village to another village using a new name every time and collects money from the villagers by promising to build a temple in their village. After a few days he absconds with their money to a new village. Rohini and Chanda’s death leads police to the so called God’s man dirty past which consists of more than one crime.
